Why "Light and Easy"?

The name for this ministry comes from Matthew 11:30. Jesus said that if we are yoked together with him, we will find that his burden is light and his yoke is easy. If we are abiding in the vine, his fruit will be produced naturally.

The name "Light and Easy" celebrates the rest we have in Jesus Christ our Lord. Abiding in him, we find that he does all the work. We still experience painful trials in this world, but as we wait and trust and simply rest in Jesus, he works everything out according to his purpose. We feel the pains along with the joys, but we are not required to struggle to accomplish anything. Rather, Hebrews 4:11 says we are to make every effort to enter the rest, which is Jesus, the Anointed One.

The Sabbath Rest pictured in the Mosaic Covenant is a shadow of the rest who is Jesus. He is our Sabbath Rest. His ministry is light and easy.
