What You
Say
Is What You Get!
Revelations 12:11 - They overcame him (Satan) by the blood of
the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
Isaiah 51:16a - I have put my words in your mouth.
Romans 10:10 - For it is with your heart (your spirit) that
you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess
and are saved.
Psalm 116:10 - I believed; therefore I said, “I am greatly
afflicted.”
And,
indeed, affliction followed David everywhere. His wise son Solomon,
however, learned from his father said.
Proverbs 18:20-21 - From the fruit of his mouth a man’s
stomach is filled; with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied. The
tongue has the power of life and death,....
Numbers 14:28 - So tell them, "As surely as I live, declares
the Lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say:"
The Israelites had been complaining and grumbling--making bad
confessions to each other with their mouths.
2 Corinthians 4:13 - It is written: “I believed; therefore I
have spoken.”
Paul
quoted David from Psalm 116, but Paul goes on to confess truth about the
Lord Jesus Christ that he knows in his spirit rather than confessing the
things his body perceives to be truth as David had done.
Romans 10:17 - ... faith comes from hearing the message, and
the message is heard through the word of Christ.
All
these scriptures fit together. We find truth in the Bible by the leading of
the Holy Spirit. We believe that truth in our spirits because we believe
the word of God is true. Then we begin to confess that word with our
mouths. The result is that with hearing and hearing again, our minds (our
souls) finally get that experience of knowing that we know, and our bodies
and our physical circumstances come into line with the truth that we first
received in our spirits. If we believe what our bodies or circumstances
tell us as David did in Psalm 116 and we confess those things, we will reap
those negative things.
