Samson
(1) There was a judge in Israel; Samson was his name; With his seven long braids he rose to fame. The Lord gave him power, strength, and might; In the midst of every battle, Samson stood for the right.
Chorus: You'll find power in prayer; just seek the Lord. His Spirit will answer as you study his Word. When the enemy tempts you and wants you to fall, With the Lord Jesus Christ you'll overcome it all.
(2) Now along came Delilah from the enemy camp; From what I read, she was quite the vamp. She teased him; she wooed him; her words were a snare; Then snip, snip, snip; there went Samson's hair.
(3) Well, without eyes to see, Samson ground the grain; They whipped him with the lash to add to his pain. He looked up to heaven and told God of his plight; Then his hair grew back and with it God's might.
(4) Out of jail they brought him to perform for the crowd; As they worshipped their idol, Dagon's praise was loud. Samson leaned on those pillars, sought God for the power, And thousands died in that final hour.
