Same Old Town by Del Way
He still works for the city as he’s always done, Still gets off at five o’clock, takes his lunch at one. Everybody knows his name, everything that he was in. They all know he’s not the same as he’s always been.
Same old town; brand new man-- No one can turn a life around as Jesus can. A good old boy everybody loves, But he was so lost in sin. Same old town; but now he’s a brand new man.
He glances at that old lounge where he spent his 5.15. He shakes his head as he drives by; it’s like a distant dream. He waves at Joe, the mailman, leaving mail at the Shoney’s Inn. Everything is still the same, everything but him.
On a cold and sleepless night, he knew there had to be more. So he fell down on his knees and cried, "Take me, Lord."
