March 3, 2001 Monica, I have another theory about Almighty God. Consider this idea: I don’t think God has any anger or wrath, and I don’t think God every killed anyone even though the Bible clearly credits him with those things. As the sovereign one who could prevent killings, etc., he accepts the blame, but many already emphasize that it is really the devil who does all the killing, stealing, and destroying. God is all love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, meekness, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control. The negative side of each of those things is just the absence of those things. That is why the Bible always shows Almighty God getting "revenge" on his enemies when his wrath is full. What that is really saying is that when sin has so totally separated the sinner from God that the sinner is no longer receiving any of the loving kindness of God, what the sinner will be reaping is wrath. It the same as saying that if you are separated from a source of heat, you are going to be very cold (like absolute zero). absolute zero (abs-loot ziro)n. The temperature at which substances possess no thermal energy, equal to -273.15oC, or -459.67oF.You think 459.67 degrees below zero might get revenge on a person? Well, I think God’s anger is like that. A sinner is by definition separated from God. When he gets completely separated from love, joy, peace, etc., he would have a better chance of surviving in a physical world at absolute zero heat. The negative things like anger and hatred are the devil’s nature, not God’s nature. We have no business reflecting the devil’s nature even if we are talking to a tree limb that we tripped over. I’ve said some very nasty things to objects that have offended me. Successful gardeners talk nicely to their plants. They might be way ahead of us on this. The plants do not hear as we know hearing, but the environment itself is affected by the nature of God being expressed instead of the nature Satan. You can see God’s wrath getting full in this world. Consider road rage as evidence of that. Be glad you won’t be here when most of God’s nature is suddenly removed by the Translation of the Christians to the Wedding Feast. Road rage of today will seem a mild thing. Love, Dad
