Everywhere I look in the Bible now, I see the River of Life. I see the flow principle. Just consider a commonly quoted or paraphrased verse like Luke 12:48. People say, "To whom much is given much is expected." Of course, it’s the flow. If I went to Amity Hall and spoke to the outlet of the Juniata River, I would explain to the Juniata River that I expect it to pour out much more water than I expect to see come out of the Cocolamus Creek. The flow must go on, or the river becomes a stagnant marsh and eventually a lifeless dead sea. If you breathe in a big lung full, you must breathe out a big lung full. If you drink a lot of water, you have to void a lot of water.

God gave us pictures of the spirit world in the physical. That is true in events as well as functions. For example, I believe God gives all of us a dream or vision in our spirits early in our Christian walk. We become pregnant with that dream and follow the Lord’s leading in it all the way to the birthing of that dream in our calling as mature Christians. However, Satan the destroyer majors in abortion. Many millions of abortions have been committed in the souls of Christians who were pregnant with a God-given dream. I know the parallel picture of Satan’s activity is obvious to all Americans. It is not only human babies that the evil one is deceiving us into aborting.

That paragraph was a digression, but it might give you a fresh angle for some contemplation. What I had in mind to talk about in this letter is how the flow is pictured in our physical bodies. I hear pastors and teachers say that we need a new anointing everyday. I don’t think that is actually what happens. We just need to keep the River flowing, and our anointings will remain fresh and new. You can see it in the working of the body God gave you.

When you breathe in, you could decide that you have a wonderful supply of air. Why go on breathing? You soon find out that the air needs a fresh supply of oxygen to maintain the body. If your arteries get clogged, you find that even though there is blood in the brain, there might as well not be because that blood has no fresh supply of oxygen. The flow must be maintained to keep the oxygen supply in the blood. When your colon is full of yesterday’s meal, why do you need to defecate? Why not just stop eating and say you are full enough? Obviously you need a fresh supply of nutrients in your food.

Many Christians, born of the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ our Righteousness, seem badly in need of a new anointing of that Spirit. In reality, they have just not let it flow. In the River from the throne of God is everything needed for everything. Whatever your calling, the anointing for it--the genius for it--the ability to perfect the talent for it--is in the River. It is all in the Holy Spirit by whom you were born again.

Whatever you ever feel you need a fresh anointing of, it is probably a need to unclog your arteries. There is an interesting new discovery in the medical world that really fits this. I have noticed that when God wants to get people flowing again after they have allowed things to get clogged up, he takes them of to a lonely place. Moses spent forty years in the desert. Joseph spent time alone in slavery and then prison. Examples go on and on.

The medical world is discovering that built into the human body is a natural ability to grow collateral blood veins. Instead of bypass surgery, they can just put pulsating pump-like devices on the patients legs and, I think also, on the arms, causing the blood to flow abundantly to the heart. This lets the heart rest [read Sabbath]. As the heart rests but still has plenty of blood flow without laboring to cause it, the circulatory system actually grows its own bypass. They knew this was happening in small veins. That is how my eye was healing itself when I wore that patch for six months. There was a clogged blood vein, but the body grew a bypass on its own. The big veins or arteries can’t do that while the heart is hard at work and even working harder than it should have to because of the clog.

Of course, you know that all the teachings that are flowing out of my computer have come after Father and I have been alone together for nine months. I knew he dealt with some areas where I was not allowing the flow properly. I see now that there were probably some collateral channels produced also.
